Ah the joys of chess. Being steamrolled or having an actual blast. With computers it becomes more of a memorization game but still fun.
She’s definitely toying with him though, there not many scenarios where there would be that many checks and it isn’t completely obvious who’s winning.

Somebody who’s played ~100 games is getting a absolutely smacked so hard by anybody who’s played thousands of games for years. But they don’t know that lmao. They didn’t make it super clear, but he may have played an english? Or gone for a 1. h4 like a complete newbie lol.

In reply to marine. You’ve probably figured this out by now, I’m guessing. But I’m just going to say this anyways: when the scene of the other people being summoned happened, it was started by saying something to the effect of “something was happening, and even Pisces and Erin could feel it, ileven if only very subtly”. Essentially saying that it is current. my personal theory for now, is that the summoning spell has been in development for a long time, and there were a few test uses before the big one. Erin was one of those, and this “titan” fella probably is too

I have a theory about why this chess seems to match earth’s chess (even the piece names)

so we know other people from earth arrived, but it never actually said when they got here. What if that was a flashback to years ago, and the “Titan” is actually some general or trained strategist from earth who is basically centuries ahead of everyone else (assuming they use early modern military strategies, just as how most of the society seems early modern)

or if not the Titan, someone close to the Titan who acts as an “aid”
