Ryoka has maybe unseeingly brought this courting on herself. Yes, she has very sharp edges, but her ability to deal with Herthon and Sammial seems almost motherly, although just a very small bit stand offishly. Maybe not enough standoffish.
What is that very quiet two noises? Ivolethe giggling, and bare feet running away as fast as they can carry their tall wonderful human?

Meanwhile we know Khelt is on a decline due to loss of the dead. We have the Prophet in the mix. I don’t get why Roshal had to jump in and exist in this.

It’s one thing to have obligatory-medival-stasis-evil-slaver-county but I can’t say I enjoy anything about them going from win to win with prestige only taking a loss on a ledger somewhere in a back store room. It’s even more ick when there’s this whole pov of the quirky ‘I’m not a bad slave lord, I think Erin is good and we just need to be fighting seamwalkers, look how I’m always opposed to the other slave lords coded worse than me” Thaolocian.

You’ve go to be joking. She PROMISED her daughter, who has lost so much and felt abandoned so many times she would be back in 2 weeks. It’s not a sudden rush to drop everything. It was always the plan. Do you have no recollection of her beating on Ryoka because Ryoka broke Mrsha’s heart by not coming back? Are you completely unaware that Mrsha lost her tribe, lost Erin, may never see the Horns again…of course her mother is dropping everything to get home as promised.
