The violent part of me say they should’ve just let the goblin beat her up anyway and bury her in the backyard, but it makes sense that even if they are at semi war with wistrum they wouldn’t wanna make such a big move like killing one of the mages right off the bat.

Also, Leon is such a little turd. so stinky. Numbtongue should have kicked hard. Throwing himself a one man pity party at all times like he didn’t betray the trust of his friends first. Then to mope around all pathetically after no one wants to mess with him anymore.

2. Locs do not come “unbraided”, they are made of sections of hair permanently twisted and manipulated into shape. Though bunches of locs themselves can be braided, if that’s what was intended I rescind #2.

The problem is that Wistram relies on much of its nefarious deeds being kept secret. They are “allowed” much of their soft power because they don’t overtly use what hard power they have to piss off the other strong nations of the world.

But, they’ve really started pushing boundaries since the Earthers arrived. They are throwing their weight around and making lots of mistakes, without anything to really back up their power. And other places can provide much of the same soft power that Wistram does, there’s just been little point because Wistram has always been reliable enough to remain in good standing.

Now, we’ve seen Nerrhavia’s Fallen reverse engineer their television broadcasts, likely without anywhere close to as many Earthers. There’s evidence that both Drowned Folk and Fissival can produce mages arguably better than all but their Archmages. Liscor is probably going to stop using their services foe their walls. They’ve provided enough bad intelligence that multiple nations are taking steps to actively prevent their spying, and word is spreading. If word gets out that they are sending kill/kidnap teams, I imagine a lot of people would object very heavily.

About the only thing truly keeping Wistram as a major power is the Mage’s Guild monopoly. If someone bothers to start up a competing service, a lot of places would probably go for it. People use sister because they have to, not because they want to, necessarily. Wistram has confused those, and believes way too much that they are unreplaceable.
