Hell, honestly, as soon as they found out Drevish was killed, I would have done the same to Amerys and sent him her head as well, on the chance it would have put him back to “sleep” again. And if that didn’t work, all the other archmages should have gone and assaulted him while he was still at his weakest. Make it clear to the entire world Wistram wouldn’t suffer another worldwide conquest.

Gotta remember that Laken was much, much lower level than Jecaina, and also has the Earther experience boost. So even if he was leveling slower due to getting advice, his low level plus the boost still allowed him to make progress.
