If it came to it, would Pelt be happier Erin lived—or the axe was gone?

It doesn’t make sense that Pelt would be happy if the axe was gone. A few paragraphs ago, Dawil said that Pelt would kill him if he traded the axe away.

Believe this should be past, not passed.

I could imagine Fierre invested in a very strong anti-appraisal artifact, now that she is leveling. She may only have Assassin right now – already something that could be very, very bad after the Assassin’s Guild stuff – but it would be highly likely she could end up with some vampire-specific consolidation later on.

It’s also possible that, being a vampire, her levels don’t show up for a “normal” appraisal. Especially one cast through an intermediary like a dead beaver corpse.

Seat as in where he sat. Even if it isn’t a chair or anything.

What would be outstanding efficient would be holly water made by Pawn, if it work agains undead. And with holly crusaders it would be the nightmare of all undead…

Or…
It was not the first such encounter she’d had that day
