Maybe the point of Kilbekitch’s problem with Pawn’s initial start out as an acolyte.

If you can break through that, you may start to see what you need to see.
The Old Gods are pushing hard to get a foot hold back in Inn world. Really hard.

Without commenting on the speculations for the first parts, you’ve gotten the last few sections wrong:

The blight on Rhir is caused by the sleeping god (or whatever it truly is) buried underground. The continent has always produced monsters, though things on the level of crelers are rare, and thousands/tens of thousands of years can pass between disasters of that scope are let loose. Sometime prior to the crelers, the rest of the world abandoned Rhir entirely because it wasn’t worth living there due to the blight. Or, more likely, nearly entirely; it is probable that some small population of the original beings that became known as Demons were still residing on the continent before and throughout the Creler Wars.

Crelers first appeared to the world at large around 6,000 years ago, and a worldwide war against them started that lasted around 800 years. Towards the end of the war, or shortly after it ended, the people of the world decided that Rhir couldn’t be left alone as it had been, and the Blighted Kingdom was first formed to provide a first line of defense against any and all new horrors spawned there.

Sometime after the Blighted Kingdom was founded, the people living on Rhir not part of the Kingdom were labeled as Demons. It is currently unknown the cause for this. It seems probable that this was due to a combination of factors, including various species from the rest of the world migrating to Rhir after they were displaced for different reasons (e.g. giants, harpies, etc.), and mutations caused by the blight transforming people and causing disfigurements of various sorts (horns, skin blemishes, etc.). People being people, these outcasts and disfigured beings were likely the target of bigotry and hatred, eventually earning the appellation of ‘Demons’ and being labeled as evil spawn of Rhir, and thus necessary to wipe out of existence.

Neither the Blighted Kingdom nor the Demons existed before the Creler Wars.

Things were already set up to run smooth with a meeting between Niers/Erin (which readers have already waited too long for) and Ryoka/Ivolethe. We already came off the tail end of the cure run with all that it entailed. Would have been a good time to ride the wave down and build it back up. Make the meeting about Ryoka and Ivolethe’s friendship. Not about the dumb human begging for yet another miracle. It tarnishes the reunion and everything involved.

Keep flip flopping who’s getting the Merlin treatment. Ryoka has the dragon but Erin has the ice prison.

Considering how the story has gone, she will likely be depowered or changed in some way.
