the ball, then, was as stated, inconsequential besides cementing jelaqua and maghuin as a couple in dullahan society, and perhaps giving moore a dullagan girfriend. what in the zugma.

lastly looks like tyrion gonna tyronne harder than before, so far the only thing that he did was to try a siegue at liscor, and then defend his castle from the thunder, and then save magnolia. like, uh, even if he becomes the circle throns dog, like nothing on what he would do would change. Only getting more screentime cuz more agression?.

say if water is constantly spilling over the edge, why has no earther, or any exposition clarified from wheres the new water coming, like, magic portals on top the ocean to replace water. or i suppose it overflows from underground sea water magic springs. last one would be boring.

I cried, I laughed (you really got me with that red haired baby!). When people work together we can do so much good. Thank you for sharing such an uplifting tale.

It was moving to Wistram because it absorbs magic, and Wistram is by the far one of the most magically dense places in the world, and especially so out in the middle of the ocean.

Laken becoming Emperor is, to me, completely bullshit. No way some random guy from Earth suddenly believes enough in himself to become an Emperor in a matter of days. I don’t care if he really liked the Norton story, you don’t just suddenly have enough belief in that kind of thing, that quickly. He does not display any of the so-called “arrogance” that he should have for a long, long time, and the internal thoughts we see from him show way more self doubt than anything else.

Beyond that, there are multiple other arguments against him being able to obtain the class.

Norton, despite his story, did not become an Emperor simply because he declared himself to be one. He become one in name, eventually, because other people treated him like one. Everything that came of him being “Emperor Norton” came about because other people viewed him as such. People used his currency because they believed it was worth something.

Beyond that, Laken didn’t meet any of the requirements for what an Emperor actually is: either a ruler of an empire, or a ruler that rules over multiple other kings.

He definitely doesn’t rule over any kings at all, since none are on Izril, so that option is out.

An empire is a territory made up of multiple, distinct territories within it. Laken makes a claim to Durene’s cottage, which is only a single territory, at the most generous description. Even that is extremely dubious, as not only does Durene not really believe he can even be an Emperor until after it happens – and thus he shouldn’t be able to claim land in the first place – but she believes herself to be part of Riverfarm, and thus her cottage isn’t a separate territory from Riverfarm as a whole. So, even assuming his claim somehow works, that’s still only a single territory, not an empire.

Laken should have gotten some generic [Ruler] or [Monarch] class, rather than Emperor. Once he claims Riverfarm – and, more realistically, both Riverfarm and Windrest – he could upgrade to Emperor. But, without his stupidly overpowered Emperor’s Aura Skill – a Skill that definitely is too strong for being a level 1 Skill – Riverfarm would basically be completely destroyed by the avalanche, with only a few people surviving.

Assuming he contacted her at all, Teriarch was intercepting all messages meant for both her and himself (as Eldavin) and destroying them. She quite possibly has no idea what is going on with his sons.

Even if she tries to do anything from her end on the assumption that he would be retaliated against, she might be somewhat limited right now. She had to get out of Dodge asap once Teriarch teleported her away from his cave. Any contact she has with others could spoil whatever protections she has going on against scrying, so that she can actually get to her destination in the drake lands safely.

Not to mention that she was getting on a ship, which means she’s almost certainly having problems due to the storm. Even if she wanted to help, there’s a good chance she can’t do much of anything right at the moment.

I’m a very avid reader, can honestly say I’ve read almost any fantasy series of note (of course I’ve missed some). The scope and scale of this story is amazing. Anyways… I mostly wrote to acknowledge how much I LOVED Moores scene today, and how much Palt has grown on me. Thank you for giving me this wonderful escape

The Wings in the cloud is probably one of the Deathless, the Death of Wings, theorized to be the harpy Empress of the empire that used to rule over Izril.
