Lightning created by spells isn’t real lightning. It has been shown a couple times, in various ways, that real lightning is both faster and stronger than magical lightning.

That is to say, magical lightning – what Mihaela creates from her wand – could quite easily have some sort of useful amount of mass, such as whatever raw mana becomes to give a spell physical force.

If, for example, magical lightning had a mass of about 10 grams worth of raw mana, it would probably more than double the momentum of someone running at 20mph. Add the effects of other movement Skills on top of that, and it would be a hefty increase.

It wouldn’t even be a matter of length of bloodline for many Wall Lords/Ladies.

Teriarch said Ryoka would need 3 nobles on the same level as Magnolia. Most drake “nobility” wouldn’t be up at that level. Ilvriss, for example, would be more on the level of Bethal or Pryde, rather than Magnolia. He “controls” only a small part of the city, and even that is a dubious “control” as Salazar still holds votes between the various Wall Lords/Ladies on important issues.

The only drake “nobility” that would be at Magnolia’s level would likely be the Dragonspeaker of Manus, the First Gardener of Oteslia, and possibly a similar position at Zeres and/or Fissival. While those positions likely have advisors and councils, they are the final word of law on anything that happens.

Even assuming any drakes at all actually worked, bringing any of them to a town that was just heavily assaulted and nearly destroyed by said drakes would be foolhardy at best. A drake going to Riverfarm right now probably wouldn’t make it far beyond the border of Laken’s territory before getting violently slaughtered.

Gnolls would likely have a similar issue. They don’t seem to hold land specifically for each tribe, and have been continuously pushed into ever smaller areas of the Gnoll Plains. Their tribe leaders don’t seem like “nobility” so much as the current wisest or strongest leader.

Goblins, again, would be similar. Barring a couple of tribes we’ve now seen, they don’t really ever hold any permanent land. And trying to put Rags on the same scale as Magnolia is just idiotic – she might get there eventually, but she has nowhere near the level of power and influence of someone from the Five Families.

Barring someone meeting and befriending a creature like the fae – which would probably be an impossibility, as even children who don’t have Classes yet don’t seem to be able to see them as anything but blobs of light – then 99.999999% of people would never have any chance of reaching anything even slightly close to whatever “artificial ceiling” or level cap there might be.

Without her wind powers – which she would never have gotten without the fae – Ryoka would have ended up as a marginal-at-best City Runner, and she would have only done that because of the scientific advancements of Earth allowing her to know about and train a proper running form.

While there is obviously some sort of benefit of being outside the leveling system, that benefit is probably useless outside of very, extremely specific scenarios, and makes you consistently weaker and less useful than even most children.

Many commenters seem to have this idea that the fae hate the leveling system, when there is no real evidence for such. They seem to have no issues interacting with Erin or Laken, and Ivolethe showed herself to and interacted with leveled people a number of times in Ryoka’s company, seemingly without any inherent rancor on her part, other than her normal annoyance for mortals in general.

No, the problem the fae seem to have is rather that people dont know what they are giving up by accepting Classes. Gaining Classes is fine, on its own, but without knowing what the trade off is, the bargain for power becomes an inherently unfair trade, which is something the fae don’t like.

I wouldn’t call them marginally related. Most of the stuff she’s blamed for has been a direct result of her actions.

That’s not to say she’s the only party at fault in any of these scenarios, but had it not been for decisions she herself made, many of the end consequences wouldn’t have occurred, or at least not occurred in the same manner.

Momentum is speed times mass, so if you transfer it from something very fast with incredibly low mass like lightning, it will not give an object with normal mass any significant speed.

Also, Mihaela should get levels in [Exploitionist] for that stunt ?
