By accident, it was called a flying jibe.

Jibe is just a change in tack, usually when sailing with a following wind.

Parts of it just felt very unnatural plot progression wise. Maybe if this was split off over and between other chapters it would be more believable to me. But the timeframes don’t make sense in my head and it takes me out of it sometimes. The oceans are supposed to be like immensely massive and dangerous, but they decide on a whim to detour at the house of Minos?

Most ships on Earth could sail 100-140+ miles a day on average. In Innworld, where you have magic to make sure you’re never completely becalmed, and can keep the wind from blowing directly against you, that average would likely be significantly higher. I could imagine there being direct movement Skills for ships just like there are for runners, as well.

Most travel would happen within the same sea currents, which means most wrecks would also occur within those same areas. Thus, some wrecks being separated by a few hundred miles could be quite possible.

A month of travel at, say, 200 miles per days is going to be around 6,000 total miles. That’s about 1.5x the distance between Europe and America. 8 wrecks in that distance is very, very possible.

They weren’t exactly “lost” in the fog, but they were close enough to Kraken’s Pass that trying to navigate without being able to see would be very dangerous. They wouldn’t have been able to tell if they were sailing closer to the Pass, or being pushed there by currents, etc.

Even quick, relatively light punches are going to wear you down if enough hit you. Even more so when the person hitting you is wearing a metal gauntlet and can still punch that fast. He didn’t take just one or two punches during that fight, but a few dozen solid hits. That’s more than most experienced fighters can usually withstand.

I would imagine that nearly all Minotaurs are of the slow, heavy fighter types. Their bodies would tend not to be on the light and fast side of things. So, I could see it being possible that Venaz is very strong against similar types of combatants, since that’s what he had grown up practicing against. Especially if they were limited in using Skills during the competition to decide who got to train with the Titan. But, while he’s strong against similar types of fighters, those that are more quick and stealthy he might have little experience fighting against, and is thus rather weak to.

Plus, really, a high level Storm Captain is going to be quite strong himself, in general. He could have just been purely outclassed. He did win against 6 other sailors afterwards.

At least as far as the undead ships go, they might not have been tracking them at all. The “entrance” to the Kraken’s Pass would be a good ambush spot, for a group of ships that didn’t fear a krakens. No normal ships would want to sail into the area, so the undead ships just have to stay in an area where sea currents would nominally steer ships towards, and stay hidden. Being undead, they probably don’t care if they ambush only one ship a year or so.

One of the Drowned ships had been tracking them since the beginning.

The other could have used scrying, or there could be someone feeding them information. We know that a number of people heard of the voyage due to Venaz and Yerra, so either option is quite possible. I doubt Feshi has enough levels in Shaman to detect scrying, nor anyone else on the ship. Quite possible pirates or similar classes have Skills that would help find targets, as well.

Rasea appears to have attempted to fight the crab, so her crew might have only been pursuing them since that information was sold. Her ship seems to be fast enough that catching up afterwards could be possible. If someone sold information once, it wouldn’t be much of a stretch to believe Rasea could have bought follow-up headings over the next few nights.

The keel is underwater and at the back of the ship.

The Illuminary had docked—by ramming through the largest warship. It had a metal blade attached to the keel, instead of a figurehead.
