Flos is such a childish monster and a tyrant to boot and other leaders have been meh so it’s refreshing to see a good person as a [king]. Raelt is twice the king Flos is no matter what the bullshit system says.

i always imagined a giant with a huge axe to improvise with fighting and use the axe as a golf club/hockey stick on a line of enemies, to just sweep away a bunch of soldiers and demoralise the enemy with I stroke/hit

Flos basically challenges Raelt to a duel – which could, realistically, be considered as forswearing himself of not declaring war, in a sense – and then goes full Pay-2-Win for said duel. He doesn’t just have backup weapons, but has enough of them he can literally throw them away like they are trash – when throwing your weapon in a fight is one of the stupidest things you can conceivably do in a real fight. He also doesn’t just have standard healing potions, but the Super Deluxe Premium Cash Shop Healing Potions of Got Gud Scrub.

Seriously, if this fight had been anything remotely “fair” from the start, Raelt would have likely won. Not guaranteed, since he did get at least somewhat injured, but much of that is due to Flos throwing weapons like a maniac.

But, because Flos and his vassal are all munchkin characters, none of it matters, and much of the interest is lost. There are no real stakes like for other character stories, because Flos will always have some sort of deus ex machina due to high levels.

The only exceptions to this are Trey and Teres, who are both some the most worthless of the main Earther cast, especially Teres. She is about as exciting as a wet noodle. Trey at least gets to interact with the Quarass and Fetohep, which can provide some entertainment.

As other comments have stated about this, Parasol Stroll is a group of mages that have been through numerous wars. They are combat trained and experienced.

The Belchan mages are academics, and a lot of them are students. Few if any have ever experienced actual fighting.

With the exception of the Grand Mage and maybe a few teachers, Parasol Stroll probably out levels all the rest. Most of the students are probably bronze rank levels at most, and are essentially worthless for comparison.
