Some sort of psychopath from Earth would probably get killed off pretty quickly. Way too easy for them to get caught before they were able to level up sufficiently. They’d be starting at 100% crazy at level 0, instead of gradually getting to that point by like level 10-15, when they have the Skills to manage things a bit. Truth spells, magical tracking methods, even gnoll noses would just wreck their day immediately.

As far as someone gaming the system, you’d probably have a few that could maybe do so, theoretically. The biggest problem is converting their mindset from a “safe” world like Earth to one of considerable more dangers. All of the Earthers are also starting from nothing, and while they’ll level quickly, that would be a huge disadvantage for many things. It takes money to earn money. And shooting a video game avatar is far, far different than shooting a monster trying to eat you.

so far the most ‘oddball’ Earther personality we’ve seen is Ryoka

since this world rewards insane dedication and risk by improving capability, surely there has to have been one hyperfocused individual who has become a level 47 [Gamer] winning thousands of gold coins in whatever this world’s version of Las Vegas is

I bet when Bird’s level is going to eventually be revealed; he’ll have enough to qualify himself as Named rank, since he’s so ridiculously dedicated to hunting birds, he’s just never used his more powerful Skills since he’s never needed them

Point being, given that there are a few hundred Earthers (so far (who survived)), it’s likely at least a few are individuals of extreme dedication. Hopefully dedicated to good things, but likely not since we’ve gotten mostly lucky so far.

Ryoka is really bad at the Friendship thing. She’s trying to do better, and seems to be doing okay with Alber & Fierre… but she’s not doing well with anyone at the Inn. She is, in fact, ignoring them despite the ease with which she could send the occasional Message.

I agree that Pomle is pretty much the only place on chandrar that I actually enjoy reading about
