Erin owns the Inn. Not you. Also, You’re not the one that the mages are trying to pry every little secret they possibly can out of. Do you need allies? Yes. Do you need allies from a group of psychotic mages hell bent on abducting every earther and squeezing them till they’re dry and then disposing of them? Fuck no.

A babysitter wearing new loafers slipped on some slick wood stairs that didn’t have a rail and dropped my sister when she was less than a year old. She broke her leg. Reading this about human babies dying if you drop them too often reminds me of this horrible accident and makes me feel super lucky that my sister was not injured more severely.

I would say your concousion is actually opposite of what is true for Innworld. The myths and legends did not originate on Earth, but were instead brought to Earth by various beings that could move between worlds, such as the fae.

We know there is a time dilation between the two worlds, and it seems like Earth time moves about 4x as fast, give or take. Things like chess, which was only developed about 1,500 years ago on Earth, would thus be only a few hundred years old on Innworld, if it was imported from Earth. Innworld has food enough records that something like chess wouldn’t be completely lost within only 300-400 years.

Conversely, if chess was brought to Earth 1,500 years ago in Earth time, that means it would have been brought over around 6,000 years ago in Innworld time. Right around the time someone might have been trying to leave Innworld to escape a huge disaster, such as the Creler Wars.

This exchange would happen both ways, to an extent, though. Which is why we might see small bits of Latin or French or other Earth languages appear randomly in Innworld. Once the fae stopped moving between worlds when the Industrial Revolution started, though, we can start to see a lack of anything modern appearing.

Adding on to this, Klbkch has three “modes”: Senior Guardsman Klbkch, which most people see and like, including Erin; Revelantor (formerly Prognugator) Klbkch, who generally only interacts with Zevara; and Klbkch the Centenium, who only other Antinium have experience with.

Erin has basically only interacted with him as Senior Guardsman, and maybe seen him act as Revelantor once or twice. But in all those cases, even if he is colder as Revelantor due to him speaking for the Hive, he’s still mostly pleasant.

When he was disciplining Bird, though, he was in full Centenium mode. He was showing a side of himself that no non-Antinium had ever really seen. This wasn’t even him being Klbkch the Slayer that people had seen during the wars, but a version that showed absolute disdain for the other Antinium, as he doesn’t see them as being “real” Antinium. Even the Individuals, while important, are failed products in his eyes, and he tends to treat them as such.

It’s not a hard limit that you can only start gaining classes at a certain age. But, considering that classes need you to at least partialoy see yourself as that class, most children would not be able to gain many classes. The few that they could would usually be the more “simple” or “basic” classes. For many people, they probably don’t even really consider those as being “real” classes, especially since they might easily consolidate into a “normal” class at only like level 5 or so.

For example, Ekirra’s [Thrower] class would probably become something like a [Stone/Knife/Axe/Whatever Thrower] at level 5, if he kept it up and started using something besides balls. Or, now that baseball has been introduced, perhaps he’d turn into a [Pitcher] if he kept using only balls for throwing. Or, if he stopped being interested in throwing his ball, and started kicking it instead, [Thrower] could turn into [Kicker], because he no longer sees himself as a [Thrower].

Most children, especially human children, dont really know what they want to be until they start getting into their teens. You might have some that want to be an adventurer, or soldier, or something like that, but they can’t really fully picture themselves as such until they really give it a try. That being said, others could figure out what they want from a very young age – such as Nanette truly deciding to become a Witch when she was only like 6.

Other races quite possibly mature faster, so they could start leveling earlier. Similarly, people that go through traumatic experiences at a.young age could meet the requirements for certain classes. Or, they have a good enough imagination that they can 100% see themselves, mentally, as a given class (such as in Mrsha’s case).
