Cyclops and lights. My only complaint (and it’s even more standout on a reread) is the massive plot holes their existence creates in the previous books. If Liscore is as important as they claim, and chaldion is as good at strategy as they claim, there is little chance of them not using the door to send saliss through to deal with the face eater moths and goblin lord/tyrion siege. And Tyrion would have had some way of countering saliss if T was as good at war as was portrayed. And prior to all that saliss wouldn’t have let zel go north alone.

They are some of the best characters of twi, but there needs to be some explanation as to why they weren’t involved in prior events.

The biggest issue for something like this, is Erin can’t just target her skill as she pleases. If she makes a fire to use in the way you want, it won’t just be the wyverns affected, but all of Pallass – meaning you’d have thousands of people getting injured as they stampeded to get away.

The emotion also has to be what she is feeling – so she would need an extremely deep feeling of herself dying to project such a thing. And while she might have such a feeling in her memories, that doesn’t mean everything that sees the fire is going to feel exactly what she does. The wyvern lord, for example, could see it and take it as a challenge, rather than wanting to run away.

They do, but they are typically very low. Normal Antinium – both soldiers and workers – have no real desires of their own, so they can’t really see themselves as “being” much of a class, which means they wouldn’t often level.
