It’s literally sexual assault. Don’t you fucking dare make it out to be anything less.

There are some situations that sheer willpower can’t overcome.

Please update the sentence above that says Erin is on the “warpath.” https://www.ictinc.ca/blog/culturally-offensive-phrases
Keep up the good work! I’m looking forward to the next audiobook, I’ve bought a bunch on Audible and will give Gravesong a try soon. They’ve kept me company a lot at work and when driving to visit a friend going through a hard time.

Except for the fact that Erin did literally tell Lyonette that the inn is as much hers as it is Erin’s. And she was also given control over the expansion of the inn.

So, yes, it is Lyonette’s call.

There is a huge difference between someone and their spouse doing that, and some random fuckboy slapping your ass. It’s degrading and women very, very rarely appreciate the gesture. Especially when the people who do it are typically the ones who believe they have a “right” to do so.

Erin is perfectly right in shutting that shit down HARD.

Erin no longer has a huge stash of honey to use for such (assuming the Horns have even told her about Yvlon’s arms). Regular honey might work, but the main issue is that Yvlon is going to have constant, low-level infections for as long as the metal is still there. Getting rid of the infections is only going to be temporary, as they’ll just keep coming back.

Having her arms slathered in honey while doing adventurer work would also probably have issues. Lots of things would be attracted to the honey, and she couldn’t just stay inside to heal like Brunkr could.

I believe the concept of the Bloodfields isn’t just that people die there, but they do so in that same area year, after year, after year, for hundreds/thousands of years. Without ever really letting the area rest and recover. You’d have literally tens of millions of deaths all happening in a relatively small area, compared to over an entire continent.

Baleros might be constantly at war, but people aren’t dying in the same locations all the time. A given spot might have a war, and yes, thousands could die there. But then there won’t be another war in that region for 5-10 years. Or you might have something fought over for even a few years running, and then a large company will take control and it’ll be “peaceful” for a decade or three.

Except she specifically said it was her father and brother that kept those traditions, not herself.

If anything, I’d say it’s mostly a matter of the watchertree not absorbing the blood, but something else that might have been in the ground.
