He knew how to cheer up someone who was worn out by a hard day. He’d helped up ten thousand drunks, salved a hundred thousand broken hearts, soothed a bitter soul, a violent rage—a countless ailments and more.

This story can even make a bartender seem amazing. I like the writing style a lot.

“It is a glorious spectacle for those who find it. Rare as it may be.”

Pisces often has poetic and/or insightful moments like this, and I love him for it (among other things).

“Tomorrow I’ll be running Liscor or sitting in my shop. Either way, I’d better know the people I want to lead. And I wanted to see her.”

Lism is becoming a more and more sympathetic character, it’s a shame he was a jerk for the first 5 books.

Finally, here’s a song I feel fits the tone of this chapter quite nicely:

I don’t think such things officially exist in Innworld, but Erin could claim her inn is an embassy and/or neutral ground.
‘Cause you know if Lism wins he’s not only going to tax her into oblivion, but he’s going to say her “no killing goblins” policy violates the law and have Numbtongue executed, as well as exterminate the Free Hive …
Well, he’d try. Or maybe he’d just build a wall and have the Antinium pay for it.

“What is your verdict, [Bartender] Rufelt? I take it the potency of the alcohol is to your satisfaction?”

Might it not be better is Klb refers to it as something else then alcohol? I mean, for example 95% ethanol will always have the same potency, and you can’t get it above 100%.
Would it not be better to call it a “brew”, since it has more active ingredients then ethanol? So alcohol immunity would probably not work either.

Just a thought :)

“Rufelt could feel it, and the [Bartender] growled. But all he did was smile.”
This appears to be contradictory.

The chapter shows up, it’s just password locked (though it says it was uploaded on the 7th, like you’d expect). Not sure what the delay means, it’s already about 3 hours later than the chapter usually goes up.
