Ack, I can’t seem to keep myself from commenting on old comments, but I just started the books 2 months ago so it’s all new to me and I have so many thoughts! I’m assuming Numbtongue will become an alchemist, in a combined class though not just an alchemist, though he might start off as one…but his miner stuff from Pyrite, and his plant knowledge too from Pyrite eating everything will fit really well with alchemy. I think that it will be teaching Numbtongue that will get Octavia levelling up and once that levelling up gets started from te teaching and you throw in the fancy magic rocks she’s going to level up fast. Also, I love that her newfound humility is connecting her to her roots which seem to really involve sharing and by sharing making everybody better. It hurt to see her so broken, and it feels good to see her start healing and moving towards being a better version of herself, and I look forward to seeing her realise how being a better person will make her more successful in her craft too. We can see that she loves it, but she got sidetracked by the hustle and lost her way. Working for the love of the craft without having to worry about the financial side of it is going to be amazing.

Maybe cry. Perhaps. But for real, I loved it, it hit really hard and well. And it’s a combo I didn’t expect!

Bone armor wouldn’t be that effective for his fighting style. He relies on not getting hit in the first place, bone armor would slow him down, if anything, and he doesn’t seem to be able to make it strong enough yet to survive any really big impact. If he gets the to point of making his bones as strong as the ones Venitra was made of, it might be worthwhile, at least fora something like a breastplate made of bone.

Making a sword of bone would face similar problems. Once he can make one strong enough, it would probably be an exceptional tool – especially if he can get some magical bones, he could effectively turn a bone rapier into a wand/staff as well, to aid in casting.

Being able to alter the weapon mid fight would also be beneficial. Making his weapon able to reach further, especially

Realistically speaking, he would benefit massively from learning how to do enchantments himself. He could literally make all the weapons his team would need in the future, that way. Exceptionally strong magical bone should hold enchantments as well as if not better than good steel.

It’s quite likely krakens wouldn’t have bones at all, or if they did, very few. We know they have giant tentacles, at the least, and if those are anything reminiscent of octopi/squid, then they’d have no bones there.

In regards to fossils, unless he managed to find a complete skeleton in very, very good condition, they probably wouldn’t be all that useful. He’d have to take an inordinate amount of time trying to figure out how the creature moved so he could tailor an animation spell to it. While he is probably better at that than most necromancers currently alive, he would be better served by just using the bone materials themselves to create a strong, custom bone horror. Getting stronger bones as a base material would kick his bone horrors up a notch or two.

It was telling Yvlon two things.

One. She could understand Grimalkin, a bit. She could judge his strength, even if he was still in a realm above hers. And because she could, she knew how outclassed she was.

What’s the second thing?

Example: Pinch and rotate a testicle, or punch it, and PAIN!!! Ovaries release an egg each month in reproductive women, destroying the tissue to get out, and the ovary patches itself up for the next month. Or uteri (uteruses??). They go through childbirth, battered and torn, and within less than a year, it is like brand new! Just a thought.

Ovari up! Where’s your uterus? Grow a clit!

After all, the Inn’s basement is only being used to store Jelaqua’s spare bodies.
Then I remembered that potion shops are usually far from residential areas (Xir’s being on the top level of Pallas, for example) because they smell bad, may emit random clouds of toxic gas …
… and occasionally explode.
