greydath? really? why?
i wonder if rags is gonna be sent to learn from niers somehow,

hide and seek my ass, the dude brought a kingdom military, might as well be a wargame free for all instead in name, somehow it makes it look like the poor lizard girl is not gonna be the winner, or rather, if none of the rich boyos brought all their friends with sword in hand there would have been no chance to win, but of course the majority of niers top boyos are rich nobility, or the gifted of whatever pases for high tribe, after all it is a bussiness, and nothing else.

That’s part of the challenge, though, and it mirrors real life. No matter how well you are able to prepare, how much or little money and resources you have available, your opponents could always have more. More time, more resources, more skill. But even so, that doesn’t mean there is absolutely zero chance of winning.

There’s also something to be said for showing his students the value of allies. Sometimes, winning overall comes at the cost of not winning the biggest reward for yourself. But had you not found allies, you wouldn’t win anything at all.

It could have also been an orphan’s body. There are probably quite a lot of orphan children in the world, due to all the war and conflict, as well as monsters. And those orphans aren’t likely to have an easy life, so death at a young age would be quite common.

A child’s body probably isn’t ideal for a selphid – lack of strength in general compared to an adult, plus very rare to have the benefits of many levels – but a freshly dead orphan could still be an improvement over a very rotten body.

Perorn held out a hand and felt Niers nimbly leap onto her palm. Teura, froze in the middle of her half-prepared speech as she spotted Niers.

Nier’s size is very inconsistent, he is described between being small enough to fit in a hand here, but has previously been described as “a foot tall”. A foot is nearly the length of a femur, this is a MAJOR difference in scale.

I just get to relax and enjoy this because it is a game and since the stakes are essentially glory – rather than life/death – I just get to bask and eat the ice cream guilt free. Delicious!

Most of the time I dislike chapters with more that one or two POVs, but the multitude of perspectives worked really well here.
This reminds me of a good old fashioned WWF grudge match – not that new overproduced fool’s gold spectacle wrestling has become, but the classics.
The Face vs. the Heel. The commentators quick with a quip. The promoters/managers hyping their stars.
Soap operas with body slams!
Here’s hoping the Heel gets pinned for the count after a devastatingly humiliating clothesline takes his head off (literally!) on Innworld’s first PPV Main Event on the Global Magical Television Network!
