As if he could lift and extra…what was it from pounds to kilograms, again? Ah yes, an extra 20 kilograms with each arm –> As if he could lift {an} extra…what was it from pounds to kilograms, again? Ah yes, an extra 20 kilograms with each arm

It would have been mentioned, the assumed reason for their leveling is because the interworld thing adds a decent amount of difficulty to everything just because of how rough it makes their life, which in the world means they have a sort of base exp multiplier, where someone else did a day of work our people did a day of work after being transported to another world with nothing, and it does seem to fade as they adapt to the world, Erin seems to be getting her levels the ‘normal’ way an innkeeper would but uses her other world knowledge to keep doing it

We do know humans appeared in the past, at least chess seemed to have spread for years and if neir is to be believed it existed before then, and he just popularized it

The thing about steam power, is that it isn’t all that useful “on its own”: you need that energy being put towards actually doing something.

And that’s where the issue really lies for Innworld: magic can do everything steam can (at its most basic levels) far better and more efficiently. Thus, there wouldn’t be much drive to bother developing steam power. Just about everything we developed steam power to help with, they seem to be able to do with mana stones and enchantments.

Monsters would make things like railroads impractical, and even to an extent well-maintained roads. Without proper surfaces to use them on, steam powered vehicles would essentially not be a realistic thing. That pretty much removes one of the biggest drivers of steam power.

The only way for Innworld to really see a necessity in steam would probably be once an Earther brings forward practical knowledge of electricity generation. Even then, magic might be more useful and efficient in setting up a generator of some kind.

Like quite a number of other things people have brought up in comments, it’s likely that people in Innworld do actually know about much of this stuff, as basic concepts. They just don’t see them as being useful, because magic is just easier and better, or skills make things redundant or impractical for most people.

Flos of Reim, the king of destruction declared his intent to stay to his own territory and the kingdom of sands rather than world domination. If that was no lie his knowledge may not be important any time soon.

Magnolia and Niers, those two who actually travel and involve themselves with the affairs of the wider world, they’re more likely to act on it sooner. Magnolia wants to keep things under control whereas Niers wants change and excitement – seeing those two stand in eachother’s way will be interesting.

I’m glad to finally see Niers have a potentially bigger role in the main story.

“A foot-high Fraerling.”

Niers was previously stated to be 6 inches tall.

Did we ever come to a definitive answer on how tall Fraerlings are? In a previous chapter Niers was stated as about 6 inches tall and in this one a foot. A few inches makes a difference when that’s all ya got ? cheers Pirate
