and I fucking love Relc’s growth

and, although there’s already been too much death, I really, really wouldn’t be fucking sad if the person trying to drown Lism succeeded.

I hope Embria stops being such a close minded bitch one of these days.

I have nothing significant, nothing decisive to say. but thank you. and I see you. and I’m sorry.

I couldn’t cry, it honestly felt wrong, like there would be a retcon or something (of course, there wouldn’t, but my mind refused). And I’m a crybaby. But this? This chapter? It did it to me. Numbtongue’s dream just fully incapacitated me for a bit. Fuck…thus is amazing, but goddamnit… But I’m sure this will start change. It’s a small ripple, but the Antinium were integrated, and are slowly getting more integrated with their inclusion of the guards and individuals being, well, a thing. And as Zevara said, this is familiar, just like people said about the Antinium before. I’m very curious how everything will change.

Jealous for a second as she saw Mrsha bury her face into Lyonette’s chest” Is this perhaps a hint that Octavia might be into girl?

I think the goblins were either brought to Innworld, or created by the gods there, and they were designed from the start to be “enemies” of everyone in the leveling system.

The natural traits that some species have would have made things extremely unfair when the system was first put in place. A level 0 minotaur would basically always outclass a level 0 human, for example. So you’d have things crashing and burning immediately, as the stronger species would always win out, and the weaker ones would just die off.

So the gods needed something for everyone to fight. Something weak, that would always, always lose in the end: and thus goblins. Designed as enemies to all, with probably some sort of magical compulsion for everyone to see them as such. Such an effect might weaken over time, until a goblin king comes about, finds out that their entire species will always be the losers in the end, and goes on a rampage. This then reinforces the compulsion in everyone else, once more making goblins the enemy everywhere.

Unlike other monsters, goblins are still able to level because, while they’ll lose in the end, they still have to be able to provide all other species with experience so they can level and keep the system in balance. They need to be able to level, but do so with inferior classes, so that they should generally never be able to keep pace with the other species.

Octavia is on record as believing that isn’t a thing that happens because of how rich that would be, already.

Was hopeful we’d be getting a Ryoka centered story considering how this section started. Definitely need a breath of fresh air after the last section.
