well if ryoka introduces aerodynamics it will not be long before the first magic planes are made. it is but a bunch of frame and dense sails, and u got a reckon plane. easier for wind mages to keep on air, and perhaps to accelerate to kingdom come, never mind the air predators, the magic air predators.
since teriarch already said that people went to the moon tho, im sure we gott helicopters bombardiers.

I think the rework of the first book kinda shows that now, when she meets Yvlons sister xD

I need to read faster to get to the quuet content again, lost track of where I was xD

By: I love this!! https://wanderinginn.com/2019/03/23/6-01/#comment-152898 Sat, 03 Aug 2024 14:52:17 +0000 http://localhost/wandering-inn/?p=5830#comment-152898 I loved this chapter! Seeing ryoka make efforts to be a more sociable person is really nice since I’m going through the same thing myself. I’m glad it actually take effort for her to even say hi and be sociable to people instead of it being a flipped switch. Some complain that it’s too much change too quickly but it’s been a long while since we checked up on her!

It’s not really surprising, when you consider the age of Innworld.

Earth history for humans only has a few thousand years worth of records, and even much of that gets really sketchy. Humans have been around longer than that, certainly, but our recorded history is relatively short. But we still have tons of examples of various cultures having references to curses, and of certain peoples being cursed, etc.

Innworld has had an active history of tens of thousands of years. There are verifiable records from many thousands of years ago, and even beings that are thousands of years old. Multiple races have tried to take over the entire world, some succeeding better than others, and then going into decline. Plus, y’know, actual magic.

It would probably be stranger if there weren’t any of the various ‘curses’ you listed, and more besides.

Goddamn why do y’all hate Ryoka so much it’s stupid. I hope Pirateaba wasn’t so influenced by all your stupid opinions.

I’m not sure if it was explained how they work in Innworld, but since a lot of it is similar to D&D, I’d wager it works the same way too.
Pretty much, a bag of holding is a portable portal to a harmless demi-plane, just a little dimension of empty space that you can put things inside of it. The reason why creatures can’t survive inside is because there is no air in there. Every time you put an item inside of it, it fills up with about 10 minutes of air, and after that it’s out. So anything that relies on oxygen to live can’t survive in there.
It doesn’t stop time. But with some of the conversations, you could argue that in Innworld it depends on the ability of the [Enchanter], or their knowledge, that determines how it does what it does.

At least Ryoka doesn’t immediately know how to make sunscreen. Unrelated but she really just goes beyond my suspension of disbelief. So she simultaneously practiced martial arts, acrobatics, and extreme running, juggling all of that in between AP classes and somehow finding the time to figure out how dozens of obscure things are made perfectly? It really just seems like whenever an invention needs to come to the world, Ryoka will just magically know it.

But what if the vampires can’t level because their god didn’t join the other gods in setting up the class system?
