Because that meant that  someday, perhaps very soon, he would have to be the one to tell Erin goodbye.

There are two spaces between “that” and “someday”

What V.Tar is saying, is that if the drakes sent that message out now, then they would be saying Tyrion continuing to push the goblins past a certain point would be a declaration of war, in their eyes.

It doesn’t matter if he says he’s hunting them. He can continue to do so, right up to the point before he crosses into whatever is considered “drake lands”. If he goes past that point, then any justification he has for doing anything at Liscor doesn’t matter, because he would have declared war by that point via his actions.

Why would they know each other? Other than Mons maybe knowing of her in a general sense, if she knows all (or at least some) of the royal families of Terandria.

Mons is older than Lyonette, and has been at Wistram for the past, what, 5 or 6 years? She’s from a minor noble house somewhere on Terandria, while Lyonette is a Princess of a major kingdom.

Lyonette ran away from home, and presumably no one other than her immediate family knows that. That’s generally not something a royal family would want learned about.

Erin wanted to have the reinforcement done on the inn, but the Antinium don’t go outside during the rainy season. They’ll make the trip through the city to the door in the rain, but they won’t go outside the inn due to the water. In other words, she would have no one to work on her inn while it’s raining.

The workers from Liscor that built the bridge to the inn wouldn’t even do so without people there to defend them in case of attacks from the water. While working on the inn might be a bit safer, you probably wouldn’t have too many workpeople willing to do so – not only is working in the pouring rain extremely dangerous, but the inn is made of wood, which you generally don’t want to get soaking wet before putting varnish on it.

She could maybe get some workers from Celum to come through, but they likely wouldn’t work much in the rain either. And they’d have the same issue of wooden inn getting soaked.

Stone could work, but that is also much more costly typically, and would be harder to move – especially when everything would have to be brought through the door, and atone is heavy. You wouldn’t be able to bring that much through without expending the door’s magic supply.

All that to say, this is just horrible timing.

No sense, unless you noticed how sometimes Erin would say things about her home that everyone else paid attention to. Pisces, Ceria, Typhenous…all the Antinium…they knew something about Erin. And the Hobs knew that they knew, although they didn’t know what it was they knew. She came from somewhere far off. Somewhere unlike anywhere in this world. From…another world? How? And why?

“Yeah she’s just from another world, says weird things sometimes, great cook”

Tyrion: We’ll attack tomorrow morning.
Laken: No, I will go, WITH MY TREBUCHETS.
Tyrion: What, you can’t go back now!
Laken: I don’t want do, go to this stupid war yourself, but I am an Emperor. I won’t dirty myself for such a idiotic reason.

That’s what I would have wished from Laken. An EMPEROR should never ever be used as a Pawn by a mere Lord.
