He glanced at Bevussa. The Gold-rank adventurer idly wondered what would happen if she said yes. It could be funny. Then she recalled the image of Bird sitting with a dozen dead monsters lying around him, feathered with arrows. She sat up and looked Bird in the eye very deliberately.

People never seem to account for the fact that all Bird does all day, every day, is shoot birds. The ultimate level grinder.

That’s twice as big as a Garuda, which are roughly the size of a human? It’s got to be the rare Dire Penguin, I’m sure.

When you finally type the dreaded words “The End,” the first thing I’m gonna do after I stop bawling is reread all the Bird chapters in order to feel better. And the magical baseball game.
The scene a few chapters ago where Bird shot the baseball out of the sky in order to catch it … priceless!

“I must go for reasons I have not come up with yet. Goodbye.”
[SKILL OBTAINED: IMMACULATE ONE-LINER]!
I’ll be darned if I ain’t gonna use that the next time I get bugged by a telemarketer.

And while I understand Bevussa’s confidence about evading Bird’s arrows if he should try to shoot her down, let us not forget that he came within a inch (literally) of killing Halric. He made a magically boosted long shot that curved around mid-flight and nearly hit one of the greatest archers on Izril.
Reminds me just a bit of the Steve Perry sci-fi classic “The Man Who Never Missed.”

I think it’d be a treat if Bird got [Skill – Archery Rapid Fire] and became Innworld’s first machine gunner … with a bow. Have Erin or the Queen buy him a magical quiver that never runs empty – [Hollywood Action Movie Endless Ammo Quiver] … filled with [John Rambo Exploding Arrows].
Bird nirvana.

Bird joins the Horns, levels up over the years and eventually becomes the Named Adventurer [The Unerring Archer].
Although Bird and Ksmvr on the same team would probably precipitate some kind of universal/multiverse reality disconnect.
“Bird, Bird, Bird. I am Bird. I love to shoot the birds that I love.”
“Please Comrade Bird, what did you mean by …?”
(please please please? One can dream – even if it’s just a scene where Bird and Ksmvr interact with each other at the Inn.)

Then a bonus chapter: Machine Gun Bird vs. Historically Large Flock Of Starlings.

Concise, heartwarming, and hilarious. “I must go for reasons I have not come up with yet. Goodbye.” – just killed me :)
