I believe the issue was finding an enchanter they actually trusted. The Halfseekers are the only team with any real weight in the south, and they are usually fairly discriminated against regardless of their fame. Thus, even in Pallass, finding a trustworthy enchanter that wouldn’t screw them out of tons of gold might be challenging.

Thus, it’s kind of a tossup between maybe finding a good enchanter in Pallass, and hoping they don’t get screwed badly, or spending more time and maybe money getting all the way to Invrisil where the other teams would know reputable enchanters.
