Took long enough. I’d been so sure that the South African fellow whose name escapes me was gay by the way he never quite explained who he had waiting for him. I was rather disappointed that the lack of queer characters wasn’t remedied then when it turned out he’d left a wife and child at home.
I mean his Zel’s queerness was made obvious when he was dying but I suppose some people still missed it, he’ll I’m sure some people still missed it here. Anyway it’s about time. Zel’s family are awful, poor Selys having to endure their horrific behaviour while she’s grappling with her actual grief.

A soldier would be a specific type of fighter, namely, one in an army/military force. Everyone in Liscor is required to be a soldier, due to the way their army works, but that doesn’t mean they are actually part of the army itself. As such, when she was fighting during the Skinner attack, she wasn’t fighting as a soldier, but as a generic warrior.

If you want to think of it using more advanced classes, it’s like how Relc is both a Sergeant and a Spearmaster. He got levels in both while.in the army, but after retiring, he would no longer gain any levels as a sergeant. Instead, he gets levels as a Spearmaster and now a Guardsman. He still has his sergeant class, it just doesn’t gain any levels because he is no longer acting as a sergeant.

1. The dash is unmatched. I think the other one should be after “sister-in-law”.

2. I am not sure which “she” feels strongly. Probably Selys, but it could also be the sister-in-law.
