Please be patient I’ll get to you shortly.”

Hey! Another late reader!
Yeah, I’m mesmerized as well. Been reading all day every day to catch up, and the double chapters make it quite a fun goal.

While I believe you are correct, this is a world of magic. So really, all bets are off the table. Reality is what the author says it is.

His book is the only retelling of the wars, people don’t like it but it’s the only one they got and no one has made a sequel, also if I remember correctly wasn’t that solider number a lie from the ants who were hiding their true population from the city while fighting their underground war

How? How could he slay the pride of the Drakes with such contemptuous ease? It seems that the Drakes, the Humans, and perhaps even the Goblin Lord and Antinium underestimated him.

Is that not the Goblin King instead of Goblin Lord?

I imagine magic would have a bigger part to play in these kinds of things than you give credit for.

We know that a Courier on the fastest ships available can make intercontinental trips in around 4 days. However, moving tons of ships at once would be able to take advantage of many of the factors that moving a single ship would. Spells to alter currents, and ensure the wind is always blowing in the proper direction, enchantments to reduce drag on the ships (including just keeping the hulls clean of barnacles and such), etc. With a force of that size traveling, there are bound to be quite a number of mages, so you could theoretically have them all travel that distance in perhaps a week or so, compared to a “normal” multi-week journey, by expending lots of mana.

In addition, the sizes of ships we are able to build on Earth are dictated solely by physics and the properties of materials. Magic would allow them to build ships larger than would be feasible on Earth. You could build a troop transport ship that was 3 or 4 times the size, and while such wouldn’t be practical under normal circumstances, having the rest of a massive fleet around it would make it viable, both from.a defensive standpoint as well as for speed.

As far as logistics go for land-based armies, things like Chests of Holding (or, possibly, Wagons of Holding) would make a huge difference. If you can make a single wagon hold 5-10x its normal capacity, that not only means being able to carry more supplies initially with the army, but makes resupplying it easier. As well, I would think the Holding enchantments would potentially have an effect on living creatures that get inside – not having to deal with bugs, or rats, or other pests that normally infest food supplies would be a huge bonus, as you wouldn’t have nearly as much spoilage.

Seemed like less of a black hole, and more like a vacuum/gravity vortex. There is mention of thing being “hurled to the ground” after being sucked into the air, rather than simply being crushed into nothing.

Plus, an actual black hole of that size would rip the planet to pieces, not just suck up bodies and trees and rocks. For context, a black hole 1 millimeter in diameter would be enough to pretty much end the Earth, if it was active for only a few seconds, by tearing up enough of the crust of the planet to destabilize the whole thing.
