It really feels like her problem is that she’s built an echo chamber with her servants and is buying into her own hype thinking that she’s the only one who can do anything.

And because of it she keeps turning potential allies into enemies. She could have tried to earn ryokas trust instead she tried to interrogate and mind control her and then seemed surprised when ryoka wanted nothing to do with her anymore.

She could have sent someone to look into erin see the girl in action and judged her that way, instead she tried to kidnap her and then got annoyed when erin became standoffish and defensive.

She could have helped Laken and his people and in doing so likely would have earned his trust and respect immediately even against ryokas warnings and instead she sent a spy to what? Endanger him? Stir up dissent in an already tense and dangerous situation risking peoples lives because of it? Make the goblin problem worse?

Like what was her plan here other than pissing off another person from our world who might have helped her and probably getting innocent people killed?

Like for all her talk of being a lady and subtlety and subterfuge she’s about as heavy handed as a steel golem.

Love the story i think Magnolia is the only character i like… fully dislike though. So far it feels like she’s got no redeeming qualities. We keep hearing about how integral she was to stopping the antinium but it feels like all we’ve seen is her meddling in things she doesn’t need to and making things worse.

/end rant

Tl;dr Not actually as upset as this all sounds. Fun story magnolia is a dingus.

Came to mention this myself. It stands out rather sharply.

She is also one of the highest level [Lady]s in the world. Substantially more powerful than a level ten emperor.

He’s gotta be in the right mindset to use his aura like that. In that situation, he’s paralyzed, scared, and disoriented. Not a good combination for trying to act like everyone should obey you.

“It’s too dangerous to risk sending the adventures out to hunt the Goblins”

Adventures > adventurers

It’s been shown that you can resist Skills like this on many occasions. Though he should have tried.

I rush outside with the others and see a woman wearing a dark brown cloak sprinting into the village, shouting.

Laken can’t “see” color. It’s been mentioned several times, including in this chapter. Also he doesn’t need to run outside, he can see anything from anywhere.
