The spell book Ryoka brought back was worth far, far more than the 50,000 gold of the original debt. So Krshia asked for whatever else Ryoka wanted to balanace the debt properly, and Ryoka chose friendship.

In other words, the debt to the gnolls is completely cleared, and since Erin and Ryoka are considered as from the same “tribe,” that friendship extends to Erin as well.

Saving Brunkr’s arm is partly just recompense for Mrsha having caused it in the first place. It’s definitely a bonus, but in the grand scheme of things, pretty minor compared to the other debt.

As far Pisces being a good instructor, that could be possible if she wanted to learn fencing, specifically. While fencing would be all fine and dandy for a Duelist, or someone that could augment the skill with other things like magic (I.e. what Pisces himself does), it generally wouldn’t be super practical against monsters, especially compared to other styles.
