During the chapter that had Zel reporting on the goblin lord, it was noted a number of times that the drakes in charge didn’t really listen to him at all. They berated him for “losing” against mere goblins, and didn’t take the matter seriously at all. It should be no surprise that the armies sent to fight were woefully misinformed.

As for Ryoka having blood on her hands… Az’Karesh is ready for war. He may not be as ready as he would like to be, but he already has his army mostly rebuilt. He can go to war whenever he wants, especially since he can create more undead wherever there is fighting.

The drakes, on the other hand, are most definitely not ready for another war with Az’Karesh, as shown in this chapter. Even if it was “only” against goblins, this was a Goblin Lord, and they sent two separate armies of only around 10,000 each. They easily have the ability to send more than that, and had they listened to Zel at all, they should have sent considerably more.

Now imagine Ryoka tells people about him being alive. He’s a 200 year old, extremely powerful mage. He’s probably got spies all over the place. He would likely find out pretty damn quick she told. And then he’d set off to war. And completely overrun however many cities before they could even attempt to bring together a large enough force to deal with him. Which means his army is now grown by however many thousands of people he kills in those cities.

So then you’d have both Az’Karesh slaughtering his way through the south, as well as a Goblin Lord running around. Sounds like a great time for the humans to take advantage of things! And maybe the Antinium will join in as well.

Yeah, I’d say it would be a great idea for Ryoka to just run her mouth without thought. Cause that works out SO WELL for her normally.
