I mean, yeah? I can think of a few reasons why she shouldn’t tell anyone:
1. Teriarch might get mad at her
2. It would be dangerous to tell anyone, because they themselves might be killed. Remember, this is a world with truth spells and such; once the Necromancer’s servants catch her, they’ll make her tell them who she has told about it.
3. Ryoka herself is less likely to be killed – Az’kerash himself said it might be okay to leave her alive if she hasn’t told anyone.
4. Ryoka might feel honor bound not to tell anyone and additionally, if she did, she might never get good jobs as a courier as she couldn’t keep the secret of her clients.
5. I assume couriers are supposed to be neutral, at least in their job

Damn bro, you got everything wrong.
Fals is a city runner hanging around the area of Celum.
Hawk is the bunny courier from Liscor.
Valceif was the human courier who died.

“But it is I who insist.”

–> insists

“I’d like to use one of the private meetings rooms if they’re available”

–> meeting

Periss getting killed wouldn’t really be a “crime”, since there wasn’t really any “laws” being broken – just a death during a war.

As for Ryoka not wanting to tell people about Az’Karesh, it’s less a matter of “he’ll kill me if I tell” and more “will he kill anyone and everyone I tell?”

Yes, he’s a big bad, but he can also stop hiding and be able to attack and slaughter everyone immediately if he wants to. The people that would fight against him all think he’s dead; no one at all would be prepared to fight him right now.

She needs to figure out how to tell people so that they can start preparing, without alerting Az’Karesh that those preparations are actually happening. Otherwise, telling people would just get a whole heaping lot of people killed.

We already know that at least the written drake.language isn’t English. And there were different written languages both in Skinner’s crypt, as well as in the spell book from Rihal. Don’t remember offhand if any of the map text was noted to be different for the Flos chapters, when Trey and Teresa are learning from Orthenon.

I believe Ryoka also needed enchanted glasses to read the books in Magnolia’s library, as none of those were in English – cursive, yes, but not the English alphabet.

I.think the dislike of word puzzles was mostly a matter of no one seeing any benefit from them. They don’t have any basic tactical knowledge like chess/go/shogi/etc. would have.

Now, what they should have done is introduce the worst board game ever, so merchants and landowners can level.up: Innworld Monopoly!

FR and isnt az’kerash one of the biggest problems/crimal of the time right now? he warred the whole continent 10(?) years ago? the author is doing this to build a false suspense sigh. “He’d kill me for telling them” as if the undead didnt follow her out of the castle to kill her anyway.

“It’s a small continent. Just about the size of Eurasia.”

All of Europe and Asia is pretty big actually.
