This idea wouldn’t work for numerous reasons:

Hedault wanted to pay 18,000 for the wand, while the debt for the gnolls is 50,000, so she would be a bit short just from that standpoint.

The wand also wouldn’t really help the gnolls unless they could already cast spells.

Plus, you’d then not have 2 mages fighting over it, but thousands of gnolls fighting to use it.

In addition to that, if Teriarch found out she didn’t give the gnolls the spell book, he’d be pretty annoyed. One of the reasons he gave it to Ryoka at all was so she could give it to the gnolls as a “gift from Archmage Teriarch” to spread his good name.

Can you feel shock, amazement, relief, and confusion all at once? I’m sure there is one, even if it’s not an English word.

Years later and my first comment on this wonderful story, but I loved the magical item descriptions. If it was the only thing in the chapter I might feel different, but having a full breakdown on what the haul from Albez was is great!

Seriously though, do you have any idea how jarring it is for me to go from English to German to English to Norwegian to English in a SINGLE SENTENCE?! Well the tome is to learn new spells. In combat terms I think Ceria should have it, because she is the caster mage while Pisces uses flash step and a rapier to fight. Pisces would have it before battle to raise dead though. Also I think the ring fits Pisces a lot better than the wand
