Wow thank you for clarifying this! This makes so much more sense now. It’s not the act of cannibalism that turned her into a monster it’s what it meant to her. The fact that she wanted to die to avoid eating that corps and yet she ate it anyways, she believed herself to be a monster so she became one. Vs most goblins see eating other goblins as a normal every day thing.

I know I’m probably in the minority, most people like action and fighting and stuff like that, but to me it’s just so fucking boring. I do sometimes enjoy a well written battle, especially the strategic part can be interesting, but, however much I love pirateaba, imo writing fighting scenes isn’t one of their strengths.
And well, then there’s also the fact that I just really don’t give a shit about Toren, nor do I care about the goblins, and especially not about a random girl that turned into a monster (other than the fact that it’s possible).

Forgive me for this rent, but I just had to get it all out to gather the energy to power through those next chapters.

It’s a bit grim but 2 random people isn’t much in this world, hell rags as probably killed at least a dozen innocent people or more

Seen a lot of your comments about having to “just act like one” to get a class, and that’s not exactly correct. You do have to act like one, yes, but you also have to at least partially believe you are the class you are getting.

Rags can’t be a Goblin Lord because she knows she isn’t one yet. She doesn’t have the same draw that a Goblin Lord has, nor is she strong enough to be one.

As for the Florist girl, she wasn’t just eating another human, but a rotting corpse. Cannibalism is not something humans normally condone. Thus, she got the red class.

Goblins, on the other hand, are perfectly fine with cannibalism. They don’t get a red class because that’s a normal part of their society.

All that being said, I do somewhat agree about Laken becoming an Emperor. Emperor Norton is a good story, but I would argue he didn’t “become” an Emperor just because he declared himself so, but because many other people accepted that claim.

There is also the fact that an empire typically needs multiple territories to exist. A single territory is not an empire. Even with his dubious claim of Durene’s cottage, he should have gotten something more generic at first.

Too bad the only person that *could* have loved him treated him like a slave.
