I keep going, ignoring her expression.

I think that the sword of the one true king is a bit much for Erin.

Viruses are inherently made more dangerous by healing potions, not less. A potion resistant disease would be a welcome change of pace.

How much power do you want them to gain within 2 months? They are already exceptionally powerful — overpowered for barely any time passing at all.

They are less compelling than your chapters about the mundane and day to day life. I hope we get fewer of these special people warp everything around them due to the force of destiny aspects. Ta’veren move the plot, but that they do so by existance makes it cheap. Anyhow, I enjoy the little stories.

Erin doesn’t need a sword, she needs a +10 Frypan of Return and +10 Kitchen Knife of Return. That way she can use them with both Bar Fighting, and Unerring Throw.

Swords are all well and good, but blunt weapons can be just as – if not more – effective. Zero reason to give her something completely out of character.

Chemical weapons, and to a lesser extent biological ones, probably wouldn’t be that strange to Innworld. They have tons of poisons and acids and such that are used for traps or by monsters. That’s not to say Earth weapons wouldn’t be more effective, but they’d be in the realm of comprehension for someone like Magnolia.

Weapons that are more advanced are also not really that much of worry, overall. They may be more powerful, but the infrastructure necessary for developing them would take years or even decades to build, even assuming there were some Earthers that knew a significant amount to help that along. They’d have to build the tools that would allow them to build the tools needed to even begin on that infrastructure.

The main problem with guns, though, is that they are very difficult to convey their actual power, especially if you don’t know what a good comparison would be in Innworld. Magnolia compares them to crossbows that shoot faster and farther… but seems to fail to comprehend that “faster” doesn’t just mean 10 or 20 bullets in a minute, but multiple hundreds; “farther” isn’t only a few hundred feet or even yards, but potentially upwards of a mile or more away; and while a bullet might be tiny, the force it has is many, many times stronger than even the fastest crossbow bolt could achieve. All of which can be augmented by skills. But even saying that, without actually seeing it in action, it’s difficult to fully imagine.

The tank vs Grand Fireball comparison is good, but again, without Ryoka knowing how much of an effective comparison that is, it’s hard to get a real sense of the difference. Sure, say a Grand Fireball is equivalent of a single tank shell. Can a mage keep firing those almost indefinitely? How quick between casts? Most importantly, how many mages can actually use that spell? Cause sure, you can probably find a dozen or two that can… But anyone with the resources could make a few dozen tanks much quicker than a mage could learn that spell.

Magnolia not worrying about a war between the two worlds, is actually reasonable. As she says, if it happens, it happens; Innworld having guns or not wouldn’t make that much of a difference when comparing population sizes. For all that Innworld is much bigger than Earth, the population density is significantly lower, and I would easily believe the overall population is way lower than Earth. We could basically overwhelm them just by sheer numbers. She probably realizes that if such a war were to occur, Innworld would almost certainly lose, so it’s not something to stress over, especially since she can’t really affect anything in that regard.
