I didn’t particularly like that part of his history either, I suppose but I still like him.

I think I learned about Norton here. Many years ago. Im glad I did.

Also many years later, Record of Ragnarok Manga (and anime) made Qin Shi Huang, 1st Chinease Emporor who fought Hades. He’s so a blind Emperor. :D

To add the final nail in the coffin i suppose, the hero class left those that believed they weren’t heroes. Yet tom kept his because he wanted to believe he still had what it took. and he did.

Then you obviously havent been reading correctly. It isnt about how you “feel” you have to fully commit to it. You have to BELIEVE you are that thing. You act as if erin didnt get innkeeper, warrior, or singer because she believed she was one. It’s been reinforced in the story time and time again that people get the class that they truly believe they are.

And to your question about the kids. How many kids TRULY believe they are kings? I imagine it takes a lot of belief and thought to convince yourself of such things, which a lot of kids probably cant do.

Laken new of norton, he had read about someone who did it, he truly believed he could do it.

The “acting” aspect is probably required to mentally reinforce their belief into a class, laken just had the *balls*/Self-confidence to do it on will alone. Did you forget Erin MADE minitour punch mid-combat? She isnt even a minitour. Who says erin cant level up if she isnt in her inn? Only erin has said that… coincidence? Probably not.
Also further proof, Erin is regarded as the best chess player in the world, yet she doesn’t have any classes that relate to it, why? as she said, its just fun and a game. She sees it as nothing special. Except for the immortal moments and wow, she got a skill called Immortal Momments.

And “He knows he isnt an emperor” No he doesn’t lol. Where did he say this? “only a crazy person who really believes that he is an emperor should be able to get it” You answered your own question my dude/t. He is crazy and it worked, because he declared himself such and fully committed.

Also the clown chapters confirm what ive said as well. Tom got the skills he wanted by believing it. Having as much self confidence as laken, to proclaim oneself emperor ISNT normal. as you said. that is what makes him emperor. He believes he is emperor; he is emperor. “What happens if I feel like a general? or a god” Then be one. Declare it to the world. But only if you truly believe you are. Am I the only person who understands how hard it would be to actually truly believe you are something? It’s easy to claim you are something, but believing you are something is crazy hard.

People suffer from imposter syndrome, even whilst being professionals in their fields. Now imagine trying to declare yourself as something as grand as a God or an Emperor without being a professional at it. I think Laken is suppose to be inspirational in that aspect.

Then i dont think you understand how difficult it would be to truly believe you are something. I imagine it isnt easy to have full conviction you *are* something. Especially an emperor. You can jokingly call yourself a king/queen amongst friends but if put on the spot in front of a stranger, an army, a president, a room full of people, could you declare that you are Royalty? Why would people need to see him as emperor when classes matter not what people think? The story has reinforced the notion that its all about your own perception of yourself
