She gets them by shaking the tree so only the mostly ripe ones fall off, the trees are sturdy enough that even an axe can’t cut them so I doubt the kicks are dealing damage and they survived with the goblins doing the same thing for who knows how long (at least a year if we go off hobs back story) so they are probably fine

I would mostly agree with this, with one exception: Imani.

Seeing what she is like should give them at least some pause to think about how dangerous it might be. Not enough to make them break down or anything, but as an avid gamer myself, if I saw someone who was like Imani after being there less than a week, I’d be quite hesitant to just go out and start smashing stuff. it wouldn’t be enough to stop me from wanting to go learn to be a mage or something, but I’d absolutely be taking things much more seriously than if I hadn’t seen her.

Granted, these kids do seem fairly immature, even considering their age. I know at 16, I wouldn’t be getting drunk every day just because alcohol was available, and acting like I was in some sort of game. Even if that ended up being true in the end, it’s still something they should be more serious about – because it’s always possible it isn’t a game. Again, as a gamer myself, I’d be much more interested in trying to learn about the system so I could exploit it, not just sit around getting drunk.

If you aren’t allowed to go out anywhere, ask the staff – politely – if they’d teach you the basics of magic, or at least how to go about doing so. See if Magnolia has a library you could browse through. Enjoy the food and drink, sure, but you don’t have to be a slob.

earlier in this chapter it was mentioned there were seven individuals in the room 3 total girls in the room including Erin. Who are the extra girls?

Rose wanted to make contact with other people from their world, along with two of the other girls, but Joseph and the guys wanted to try fighting monsters. With magical items, of course. The other girls just wanted to explore the city and the world as if they were tourists.

Earlier in chapter.

They were nearly equally split between genders, and with Erin there were four boys and three girls in the room.

It was also a smaller room than Erin had expected; she’s almost believed she was entering an audience hall…

-> she’d almost believed

Could you not though. Why do people post stuff like this, people are reading the story for the first time all the time.

This isn’t exactly a typo, but “Drakes? You mean Dragons?” thoroughly confused me. It seems like a line or two was omitted? The last line of dialogue before that was about a maid cleaning up a spill, it doesn’t sound like Erin said anything after that, and the only earlier reference to drakes in the chapter was Erin thinking to herself that the human wasn’t one.
