Paladin’s aren’t extinct but none serve Gods.

I’m so sad to see him turning to the dark side though… he just needs some guidance and unconditional love..
Erin has raised him in such a shaming and critical way so his development is getting all fucked up :,(
plus the fact that he was made to be a “warrior” and not a barmaid. Now he’s turning sadistic and is learning to love killing ahhhg. He had the potential to be so kind and loving if only Erin treated him with the same care she treats most others

I hate how the corsudeer’s antlers account for nothing in a fight, it’s just disregarding the legitimacy of a genuine defense mechanism that proves itself…

It doesn’t need to DAMAGE Toren, but he shouldn’t be able to get a hit off because, hey! It’s JUST a deer. That’s so bogus. it can easily him away at an arm’s length

Also this system is really weird and I’m not even sure it has a canonical reason for that. You level up before sleeping, okay, but Toren levels up after fights because… what, he doesn’t sleep? What’s the point of it only happening before sleep then?

Is it because he’s juiced by Erin’s mana and she’s literally a walking level cheat?

Also, it’s one thing with Ryoka being rude at the start of the story to randos we don’t know, but this thief is being a literal waste of space and awful to established characters we already like. Erin taking her in is… a choice. I hope the author cooks.

Calruz has a lot of experience, and his general worldview is probably close to a natural [Indomitable Will] effect. He was also described as “close” to being gold rank himself, even if his team wasn’t. Every other silver rank was affected quite heavily. Even Relc, who does have [Indomitable Will], still paused a bit at first.

If none of the gold ranks have an anti-fear skill like that, then it’s logical they would be affected. Ulrien seemed the least so, so he could very well have such a skill, but if you aren’t expecting something like that, it could still surprise you enough for a very short duration effect.

There’s a reference to [Paladin] in this chapter. Later chapters seem to make [Paladin] sound like an ‘extinct’ class, and I don’t recall any later mentions of said adventurer [Paladin]. Should this reference be removed?

This. I keep thinking Pirateaba is one of the best comedy writers I’ve read. The number of times I’ve laughed out loud or gone into chuckle/giggle fits with this story surpasses anything I’ve read before. And writers will tell you, horror and comedy are the hardest, because you’re trying to provoke a physical response in the reader. Anyway, I think that stuff keeps me reading when the bigger plot stuff would get tiring.
