I’ve really been enjoying this story, this is my first time reading through it and it’s difficult to put down! I look forward to reading more.

That would be hilarious but c’mon, I’m trying to read escapist fantasy for a reason here…

Think about what Erin current class and status again,Yeah innkeeper and currently poor. Grand plans? What can she even do besides making food?

These are all understandable conclusions they could have reached after talking about it. Erin was crying her eyes off (an will be doing it many more times in the future as I’ve now seen) about missing home and in this instance where she gets to talk plans for the first time she acts as if she doesn’t even care about anything important.

It can be explained the way you did but these conclusions should be hinted at in the narrative. If you’re going to spend a paragraph about burgers and chess, you better spend a few explaining why Erin preferred or felt like not talking about THE most important topic which should be “how do we get back home”?

Instead what was hinted at was “Erin is an impulsive goofball”. That’s all good but you can’t be that to the point of idiocy.

Ryoka guessed her reason which is why she said the whole “the king has awakened”, and like you said she’s a super soilder who can track you down with scrying and can teleport wherever, it’s like being told someone will shoot you at some point, you either hide in a bunker you know won’t stop it or you live day by day and hope to dodge when it’s shot, also she needs more money before she can even think of returning home

Hey, I just started this reread coming off of reading Young Flame.

What happened to Erin wanting to go back? No mention of her grand plans to find a mage in Wistram Academy and her theories (or Pisces’s) about teleportation magic etc while discussing plans… Instead she acts like her IQ dropped by 50 points after all those blows on the head.

And what’s with the chess, like I get it, it’s an integral part of the story and everyone likes it but playing chess would be the last thing I’d wanna do while debating a life and death matter in light of new critical information. It’s like she doesn’t even care anymore.

A godlike warrior who can take on like half the city by themselves just tried to abduct us, we barely escaped through a stroke of luck and they promise they will take revenge which could literally happen right now with another teleportation spell the same way they left… Whatever, lets worry about adding burgers to the menu…?

Why are we so important that a general of a legendary and most feared monarch alive on this planet just tried to take us? Who cares, that’s boring politics… Trump’s win on the other hand deserves our attention…
