It´s not the fact that she feels remorse for killing them, it´s the fact that being able to purge an entire Shield Spider nest for herself made her realise she´s really good at killing things. She´s not feeling bad for killing spiders, she´s feeling bad because she realised she has an innate talent for murder, and that idea disturbs her.

Idk man, I would feel bad for a good while if I killed a spider, bee or an ant by accident. I still feel tormented by the ladybug massacre I committed when I was a younger.

Is she really gonna run back north without their path’s actually crossing?? You’re hurting me, Pirateaba…

You are an idiot, she doesn’t like killing but she sees why it must be done (to survive)that is the reason why she still killed the babies. Thats the reason why she is still not vegan.

she is in another world, same morals doesn’t apply

You seem to be viewing morals as a function of circumstance, whereas Erin views them as a function of self.

By that I mean you sound like morals are dependent on the circumstances you are in. Erin, on the other hand, considers her morals part of her and largely unchanging. And she is trying to keep her morals not in spite of, but because she is in another world.

She has that in common with Ryoka, who like two chapters ago was not willing to give Magnolia the secrets to gunpowder to save herself.

(She also has that in common with Captain Kathryn Janeway of the Federation Starship Voyager, who, when stranded half a galaxy away from all humans and the Federation whose values she draws on, chooses to stick to those values.)
